Managing a single artist is a demanding endeavor, but orchestrating the operations of an entire management company while simultaneously nurturing a roster of one’s own presents a challenge of a different magnitude. Few individuals possess the acumen and dedication to excel in both domains, and even fewer can do so with the impact of Eric Bindman. As a Partner and the Director of Operations at Prodigy Artists, Bindman not only guides a roster that includes Grammy-nominated and Gold-certified artist Audien, dance music luminary Valentino Khan, and burgeoning talents like Luke Alexander, Elephante, and NIIKO X SWAE, but he also spearheads the internal operations of one of electronic music’s most respected and established management firms. This company, responsible for the careers of stars such as NGHTMRE, SLANDER, and Bazzi, boasts collective ticket sales that have surpassed an impressive 380,000 in a single year, with Bindman serving as a pivotal force behind this substantial growth.

From Grassroots Beginnings to Industry Leadership

Bindman’s journey into the music industry was a organic evolution, beginning with a passion for capturing live events and a close circle of DJ friends. "I was filming events and DJs at the time as a side gig and hobby, and a lot of my friends were up-and-coming DJs at the time," Bindman recalls. "I just kind of organically started wearing a tour manager hat, and then that rolled into being the artist relations and production manager at some of the shows I was shooting, since there just wasn’t that role filled. And then I kind of fell into being a one-stop shop for all things, which included booking talent." This early immersion into the multifaceted demands of live event production and artist support laid the foundation for his comprehensive understanding of the industry.

His formative years were marked by hands-on experience, transitioning from event filming to tour managing for prominent artists such as Deorro, Two Friends, and 3LAU. Life on the road provided invaluable, real-world education that could not be replicated in a traditional office setting. "Tour managing taught me lessons that you simply can’t learn behind a desk," Bindman explains. "When you’re on the road, every day presents a new challenge, from delays to production issues to weather. It really taught me how to stay on my toes and how to solve problems calmly and immediately, often before anyone else even knows they exist or before they flare up into bigger issues." This period instilled in him a profound appreciation for the intricate logistics and human dynamics that underpin successful touring careers. He learned to anticipate challenges, maintain composure under pressure, and make swift decisions with limited information – skills that have proven indispensable in his current leadership roles.

A Holistic Approach to Artist Management

Bindman’s extensive background, spanning over 15 years, encompasses nearly every facet of the music business, including management, touring, publishing, accounting, catalogue sales, label operations, human resources, social media marketing, travel logistics, and event execution. This breadth of experience provides him with a unique vantage point, enabling him to manage artists with a truly holistic strategy. "Having experience across so many areas of the business has taught me that no decision exists in a vacuum," he states. "Every opportunity affects multiple parts of an artist’s career, so I naturally evaluate decisions from all of those perspectives instead of focusing on just one."

This comprehensive perspective allows for a proactive rather than reactive management style. Whether negotiating a contract, planning a music release, developing a touring strategy, or expanding an artist’s team, Bindman considers the long-term implications, not just the immediate outcomes. This integrated approach fosters more effective communication with all stakeholders, as he possesses a keen understanding of the priorities and challenges faced by each department involved in an artist’s career. His ultimate aim is to orchestrate a seamless operation where artists can dedicate their energy to their creative pursuits, confident that every business aspect is being managed with meticulous attention and a long-term vision.

Cultivating Sustainable Careers: The Prodigy Artists Roster

At Prodigy Artists, Bindman oversees a roster of acclaimed and emerging talent, including Audien, Valentino Khan, and Elephante. His selection process is rooted in identifying artists with a clear vision and unwavering commitment to their craft. "The first thing I look for is whether an artist has a clear vision and knows where they want to go," Bindman emphasizes. "Talent is important, but it’s only one piece of the equation. The artists who build lasting careers are the ones who are constantly evolving, willing to put in the work, and committed to thinking long-term rather than chasing short-term wins. It’s important to see the forest from the trees."

Bindman eschews a one-size-fits-all approach to career development. Instead, he meticulously tailors strategies to each artist’s unique aspirations and strengths. "When I take on an artist, I don’t believe in applying the same blueprint to everyone," he explains. "Every career is different, so my approach starts with understanding what success looks like for that individual. From there, it’s about building a strategy that aligns every part of their business, from music releases and touring to partnerships, branding, and team development, so each decision supports the bigger picture." His overarching goal is to foster sustainable careers, not merely fleeting moments of success, recognizing that consistent, informed decision-making, authenticity, and strategic investments are paramount for longevity in the competitive music landscape.

Driving Demand: The Audien Success Story

A testament to Bindman’s strategic prowess is the remarkable touring success of Audien. Under his management, Audien has achieved significant milestones, including over 6,600 ticket sales in New York and more than 6,000 in Los Angeles, positioning him among the top-tier touring acts in dance music. Furthermore, Bindman was instrumental in Audien earning two Gold-certified records and overseeing the release of his critically acclaimed album First Love, which has garnered over 101 million streams on Spotify.

Bindman attributes these achievements to a sustained effort built on a clear artistic vision. "The recent touring wins were the result of years of consistent work rather than one big strategy," he states. "Building demand starts with having a clear vision for where you want an artist to go, and then making sure every release, every tour, every piece of content, and every partnership is moving in the same direction." For Audien, this involved intentionally crafting compelling live experiences that resonated with fans. "With Audien, we were intentional about creating moments that fans genuinely wanted to be part of," Bindman elaborates. "We focused on delivering an exceptional live experience, being selective with the opportunities we pursued, and making each headline show feel like a mini festival rather than just another stop on a tour. Over time, that builds trust with fans, and that trust translates into ticket sales."

He emphasizes that such success is a collective effort, involving a dedicated team of managers, bookers, marketers, agents, promoters, labels, and production personnel. Bindman’s role is to orchestrate these diverse elements into a cohesive strategy, ensuring a long-term trajectory for the artist.

The Dual Role: Operations and Artist Management

Bindman’s position as both a Partner and Director of Operations at Prodigy Artists is an unusual yet highly effective dynamic. He seamlessly integrates his hands-on artist management experience with his oversight of the company’s operational backbone. "It’s definitely a unique role, but I actually think the two responsibilities complement each other," he observes. "Managing artists keeps me connected to the day-to-day realities of the business, while overseeing operations gives me the ability to build the systems, processes, and infrastructure that allow both our artists and managers to succeed. Each side makes me better at the other."

As Director of Operations, Bindman is responsible for a wide array of critical functions, including finance, accounting, legal affairs, human resources, mergers and acquisitions, technology infrastructure, contract management, and insurance. His daily focus is on enhancing the company’s efficiency and scalability. "On the operations side, my role touches nearly every part of the company," he notes. "I oversee finance, accounting, legal, HR, M&A, technology, contracts, insurance, and internal processes, while constantly looking for ways to make the business more efficient and scalable. As we’ve grown, a big part of my job has been building the operational foundation that allows the company to support more artists without sacrificing the level of service we’re known for."

This dual responsibility is managed through rigorous prioritization and the support of a capable team. Whether addressing an artist’s career trajectory or a company-wide operational challenge, Bindman’s objective remains consistent: to cultivate an environment where every individual has the necessary support to thrive.

Building a Scalable Infrastructure for Growth

A significant aspect of Bindman’s operational leadership has been the development of scalable systems that enable Prodigy Artists to expand its roster without compromising service quality. He recognized the limitations of knowledge residing in silos and focused on institutionalizing best practices. "One of the biggest changes has been shifting the company away from relying on siloed knowledge and toward building scalable systems," Bindman explains. "As we grew, I realized that if key information only lived in someone’s head, it became difficult to maintain the level of service our artists deserved. So we focused on documenting processes, standardizing workflows, and implementing systems that made the business more organized and efficient."

These enhancements have included redesigning financial reporting and budgeting processes, streamlining contract management and onboarding procedures, improving internal communication channels, and optimizing the technology stack used for information management. The overarching goal is to minimize friction for the management team, allowing them to dedicate more time to artist development. "For me, good operations should almost be invisible," Bindman states. "When the systems are working well, things move faster, communication improves, and the team has more time and energy to focus on delivering great results for our artists."

A People-First Philosophy

Central to Bindman’s management philosophy is an unwavering commitment to a people-first approach, fostering enduring relationships built on trust and mutual respect. This ethos permeates every aspect of his work, from guiding artists to supporting his internal teams. "I’ve always believed that this business is built on relationships," he asserts. "The music industry is a small world, and dance music is even smaller. While deals, strategies, and numbers are all important, people ultimately choose to work with those they trust and enjoy being around. Life is too short to work with people you don’t want to be associated with."

This principle shapes his interactions with artists, partners, promoters, agents, and legal counsel, aiming to create an environment of transparency, reliability, and empowerment. He believes that when individuals feel genuinely supported and valued, stronger partnerships and superior outcomes naturally emerge. Bindman stresses the importance of long-term relationship building, recognizing that reputations are forged over years, not months. "Viral moments only get an artist so far, and it’s important to see the forest from the trees," he advises. "Reputation matters, and I’ve found that treating people with respect, communicating honestly, and investing in long-term relationships is one of the most valuable things you can do in this industry."

Future Trajectories: Continued Growth and Evolution

Looking ahead, Eric Bindman’s aspirations for himself and Prodigy Artists are centered on continuous growth and unwavering adherence to core values. "Ultimately I want to keep growing and evolving as a manager while staying true to my core values," he states. "My biggest goal is to continue growing as a manager, a leader, and a resource for the artists I have the pleasure of working with. The music industry is constantly changing, so I will continue to focus on learning, adapting, and finding better ways to create opportunities and build long-term careers."

He aims to push boundaries by embracing ambitious challenges and further refining his ability to balance the creative demands of artist management with the strategic imperatives of operational leadership. "I want to continue challenging myself to think bigger," Bindman says. "A big part of my career has been learning how to balance the creative side of management with the operational side, and I want to keep developing that skill set."

At its core, Bindman’s vision is to engage in meaningful work with exceptional individuals, facilitate the realization of artists’ full potential, and construct a life of which he can be proud, all while remaining steadfast to the principles that have guided his success. His remarkable trajectory, from booking shows as a student to leading operations at one of electronic music’s most esteemed management companies, underscores the profound impact of a comprehensive business understanding coupled with a genuine commitment to people. As Prodigy Artists continues its ascent, Bindman remains an indispensable architect of its success, diligently focusing on the foundational work that enables artists to achieve their dreams.
